10 days after I gave birth, my pelvic floor gave out.

 

Thank Goddess, I didn’t prolapse, but I wasn’t able to walk or pick up my baby for another 3-5 days.

For 2 weeks after, I had internal vaginal spasms and cramps throughout my inner thighs, especially during nursing sessions when my uterus would contract.

Again, thank Goddess it was only 2 weeks!

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT LONGER.

 

I’ve witnessed women dealing with prolapse in their 50’s and 60’s, something they’ve dealt with for decades.

I've had women reach out to me after not having had an orgasm in years OR EVER, not knowing where else to turn.

Even when women like these do speak up, the doctors tend to say that’s “just the way it is.”

 

THIS IS A LIE!

 

Truth is, it’s not "the way it is"!

Truth is, you have the potential to heal your prolapse, incontinence, lack of core strength, abdominal separation, misaligned posture, sexual dysfunction, etc., etc., at any point in your life.

 

Your body is always making new cells, and it’s always regenerating your connective tissues.
These tissues, known as fascia, are crucial to focus on when rehabilitating your core and pelvic floor.

 

You can do all of the exercises in the world for the core or “abs"--sit ups, planks, crunches, and more--but if you aren’t rebuilding your fascia,

it won’t do you much good.

 

YOU NOURISH YOUR FASCIA WITH BREATH-WORK &

HYPER-FOCUSED, INTENTIONAL, SLOW MOVEMENT.

 

And you DEFINITELY don’t do it with crunches and planks!

 

You self-heal with things like “Kegels,” but you must know how to do them properly.
I use the word kegels in quotations, because I tread lightly with it.

Alternatively, I prefer to use the phrase “pelvic floor strengtheners” when referring how to move and manipulate the deep internal muscles of the pelvic bowl.

 

LEARNING HOW TO PROPERLY STRENGTHEN YOUR PELVIC FLOOR IS THE KEY TO YOUR ENTIRE CORE STRENGTH.

 

After a 60 hour labor with 5 hours of strenuous pushing, it’s no wonder my muscles gave out.

They had been supporting a growing baby for 40 weeks, and now they were DONE.

 

It wasn’t a great experience when my pelvic floor gave out, but I’m thankful it did, because I saw how quickly I could heal myself with the tools and knowledge I had learned.

 

  • I started with a Diastasis Recti check. I had a separation about 3 fingers’ width.
  • Then I used breath work to activate muscles and fascia in places that needed regeneration.
  • Next, I incorporated gentle, mindful movement to rebuild the neurological pathways in these spaces I was regenerating.

*All along the way, I worked to activate deep internal pelvic floor and core muscles to build strength and connection moving forward.
